What is Callex?

Callex is a service that offers international calls at very competitive prices. You can either use a landline phone or a cell phone to access the service.

How do I get started?

1. Sign up for an account

First you you have to Sign up to get your own account. After that you're ready to Login

2. Make a payment

To make a call you first have to transfer money to your account. Callex accepts both VISA and Mastercard. All payments are secure and made over an encrypted connection. You charge your account in the section Make a payment which is shown after you have logged in. If you don't have a credit card you can transfer money from your bank account instead.

You're now ready to make a call.

How do I make a call?

1. Dial one of the access numbers

To connect to the service you'll first have to dial an access number. You'll find the access numbers under the section Access numbers.

2. Enter your PIN code

A voice will ask you to enter your PIN code. You'll find your PIN code in the section Account details that is shown after you've logged in. If you have registered the phone number you are calling from you will not be asked to enter your PIN code.

3. Receive a dial tone

Wait for a dial tone before proceeding.

4. Dial the number you would like to call

It is important to note the callex dialing format:

Also, any leading zero on your number should be removed before adding the country code. For example, when dialing the local UK number 020-778899 you would have to dial: 004420778899.

Register phone numbers

If you often use Callex from the same the phone, e.g. your home phone, you don't have to enter the PIN code every time. If you register the number you are calling from in your Callex account, Callex will recognize your number every time you call an access-number. You will then receive a dial tone immediately and you won't have to enter your PIN-code. You register your phone numbers in the section Register phone numbers that is shown after you've logged in. Remember to only register numbers that only you have access to since your account is not protected by the PIN-code from those numbers.

Transfer money from your bank account

If you don't have a credit card you have the possibilty to transfer money directly from your bank account to your Callex account. Just transfer the preferred amount to bankgiro account 260-4890 (Handelsbanken, Sweden) or plusgiro 459425-5 (Nordea). Make sure to write down your Callex account number in the message field when making the payment. Otherwise we won't be able to tell that you have made the payment. The money will be in your Callex account 24 hours after making the payment. When paying with credit card on the site the money will be in your account immediately.

Key commands

After you have dialed an access number and received dial tone there is couple of commands that you can perform with the keys on your phone. You perfom a command by first pressing * then a digit.
